College of Islamic Sciences Conducts Training Course on Manuscript Verification: “The Manuscript Book: Introduction and Rules of Verification”

The College of Islamic Sciences organized a specialized training course titled “The Manuscript Book: Introduction and Rules of Verification”, delivered by Dr. Talal Faiq Al-Kamali and Assistant Lecturer Munaf Latif Al-Tamimi, with the participation of several faculty members and researchers interested in heritage and manuscript verification.

The course highlighted the importance of manuscripts in preserving scholarly output throughout the ages, introducing fundamental concepts related to the structure of manuscript books, methods for identifying their components, and approaches to handling them according to established scholarly methodologies. The instructors also presented the main rules of verification, from collecting and comparing manuscript copies to textual correction, documentation, annotation, and index preparation.

The course included interactive discussions, where participants raised questions about the challenges faced by manuscript verifiers and strategies to address them, thereby reinforcing the scientific benefits of the course and enhancing the research skills of the attendees.
